Ingredients

  • 3 tbsp unsalted butter
  • 3 tbsp all-purpose flour
  • 300 ml lager or amber beer
  • 240 ml whole milk
  • 110 g cream cheese
  • 170 g sharp cheddar grated
  • 1 tsp Dijon mustard
  • 1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1/4 tsp cayenne or hot sauce
  • Salt and freshly ground black pepper

Instructions

  • Melt butter and whisk in flour, cook 1-2 minutes.
  • Slowly whisk in beer and milk until thickened.
  • Lower heat and stir in cream cheese until smooth.
  • Remove from heat and whisk in grated cheddar, add seasonings.
